Senior School
Dear Parents and Families,
As we approach the end of the year, we are delighted to welcome our new Year 11 students and their families. Our former Year 10 cohort has now officially entered Senior School, and we are very excited to have them on board.
To support students and families as they transition, it is important to familiarize yourselves with Elevation Secondary College’s VCE processes, which can be found here on our school website.
Year 11 Updates
- Our new Year 11 students have successfully completed their Year 10 exams and spent a week attending Year 11 classes. This early exposure helps prepare them for the year ahead.
Textbooks and resources: It is crucial that students have all their textbooks and learning materials ready for 2026. Students have received a physical copy of the booklist, and a digital version for both Year 11 and Year 12 can be accessed below:
Year 12 Updates
Our new Year 12 students have made an outstanding start to the year, demonstrating leadership, kindness, and focus in their studies. They are setting an excellent example for the younger year levels.
Looking Ahead
- In 2026, we look forward to introducing families to the wider Senior School Team. Now in its fourth year, our Senior School is experienced and ready to support both students and families through the VCE journey.
- Year 12 Jackets will be distributed to students when they arrive. We anticipate this will be during Term 1.

VCE VM
Our VCE:VM and VET students were recognised with multiple awards at the Hume/Whittlesea Vocational Awards Evening on Thursday, 20th November. These awards celebrate the achievements of students who have excelled in competency-based learning by demonstrating initiative, completing work ahead of schedule, and volunteering for additional learning opportunities in their workplaces.
VET Award Winners
Patricia – VET Certificate III in Business Administration
Patricia joined Elevation Secondary College this year from Queensland, where she had already commenced her Certificate III in Business Administration. As a nationally recognised qualification, she was able to receive Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) for the units she had previously completed. Patricia worked diligently ahead of her class, completing the required competencies and finalising her certificate early in Term 3. She then used this time to support other students and prepare for her examinations.
Phoenix – VET Certificate III in Light Automotive Vehicles
Phoenix undertook his VET studies through his School-Based Apprenticeship & Training Program (SBAT). Throughout Years 11 and 12 he attended Kangan Docklands as part of his course. Upon completing his VCE:VM at the end of Term 3, Phoenix transitioned from his SBAT to a full-time apprenticeship. His employers report that he consistently takes on additional responsibilities and is a highly valued employee.
SBAT Award
Reza – Certificate III in Electrotechnology
Reza commenced his SBAT during his VCE:VM studies, working towards a Certificate III in Electrotechnology. This pathway has been of interest to him since Year 10, and securing an electrical SBAT is a significant achievement. Both his employers and our Head Start representative speak very highly of Reza’s dedication to his work and his electrotechnology studies.
Kangan Scholarship
In addition to receiving a VET Award, Phoenix Lowe was awarded a $250 scholarship to support the continuation of his studies at Kangan during his apprenticeship. This is an exciting achievement and a testament to his commitment and focus on vocational learning.

Careers
Throughout 2025, Careers education for Years 7-12 Elevation SC students incorporates a planned program that includes self-discovery, career exploration and planning. Activities involve Career Action Plans (CAPs), Morrisby career tools, Work Placement, Career Expos; 1:1 careers guidance (and more!!!). Overall, the curriculum progressively builds from self-awareness in years 7 and 8 to intensive pathways planning in Years 10-12.
Below is the Year-to-Year breakdown:

| Self-reflection: Identify their own interests, skills, & strengths, & understand how these relate to the future. Exploration: Learn about a range of occupations & industries through activities, research, & discussions. Goal-setting: Use a “Career Action Plan” tool to focus on their goals & how to achieve them in school & life. Pathway awareness: Learn about different pathways to a career, such as university, TAFE, or employment. | |
