2025 GAT
All Year 12 students (VCE and VCE-VM) and Year 11 students enrolled in a Year 12 subject are required to sit the official GAT (General Achievement Test) on Tuesday, June 17th. Students must arrive at school by 8:30 AM on the day of the exam.
Further information will be shared with families as the exam date approaches.
Year 12 Formal
We’re excited to announce that the Year 12 Formal Event is now live on Compass for consent and payment. Please refer to the event titled “Year 12 Formal” for all the details.
We can’t wait to see all our current Year 12 students celebrating this special evening!
Year 11 Subject Changes
We would like to inform families that VCE Subject Change Requests for Semester 2 will open on Monday, May 26th, and will remain available for two weeks, closing at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 6th.
Students wishing to change a subject must complete the required form. For further details, please refer to the Compass post titled “Change of VCE Subject Semester 2.”
Subjects requests are not a guarantee that subjects will be changed. Where necessary students will receive counselling from the Senior School team to discuss their program.

Enhance Your Career by doing Volunteer Work
Volunteering can significantly boost your career prospects by adding valuable experience and skills to your resume, demonstrating initiative, and potentially leading to new job opportunities. It’s a great way to learn new skills, explore different career paths, and build connections in your field.
Furthermore, a number of universities, including La Trobe Uni., RMIT and Vic. University, reward students undergoing Voluntary work by offering early entry into courses.
What is Volunteering?
- Volunteering is when you give your time to serve others without being paid.
- Formal volunteering usually takes place through a charity or community organisation.
- You may want to volunteer regularly or just sometimes.
- Volunteering can help you build your relationships in your community.
- It can also have positive impacts on the wellbeing of volunteers.
A range of Organisations include:

| Arts and media | Community Broadcasting Online lets you find a community radio or TV station near you, which you can contact about volunteering opportunities. |
| Community support | Uniting is a community organisation that works with disadvantaged Victorians. Including support for people with disability, help the aged, or assist with the annual Food appeals. Australian Red Cross provides care during emergencies, as well as supporting vulnerable people in the community. |
| Environmental | Country Fire Authority (CFA) is a volunteer firefighting & emergency services organisation. If you’re aged 11 to 15, you can join the Junior Volunteers program, which includes firefighting drills, first aid training, community service and other activities. If over 16, you can become a regular volunteer, which can involve firefighting and emergency management. Environmental volunteering has a search tool that allows you to search for available environmental volunteering opportunities in your area. You can filter by activity type, local government area (LGA) or volunteer group name. |
| Health | Heart Foundation is a charity that fights heart disease. Volunteers do everything from answering phones to door knocking and helping with events. St John Ambulance works to save lives through first aid. They provide medical and first aid services at events. You can get involved in a number of ways. If you’re 12 to 17, you can join as a youth member. Youth members do first aid training and assist at events. |
| Social justice | Oxfam Australia is an international organisation that works to alleviate poverty. Volunteers work in customer service, research, editing, events and photography, among many other things. Usually you need to be over 18 to volunteer at Oxfam Australia, but if you’re 16 to 18, you can ask for special consideration. |
| Retail | Sales assistant at St Vincent de Paul Society – The St Vincent de Paul Society operates over 100 Vinnies Shops throughout Victoria. The prime purpose of these shops is to provide funds for the Society to carry out its charitable works and to provide those they assist with recycled clothing, furniture and other essential goods. |
