Student Learning Conferences

Thanks to all of the families who attended our Student Learning Conferences last week. We had a really great turnout of families attending the day, allowing students to lead some really in-depth discussions about their learning so far for the year. I am always very proud of how well our students are able to articulate what they have learned, how they have applied their learning and where they will go to next with their teachers and families.

Our next Student Learning Conferences are during Term 3 and serve dual purposes. The first purpose is the Student Learning Conferences themselves, but in addition during the Term 3 conferences, we have subject selection and pathways counselling appointments available for students – primarily in Year 10 – to assist with their subject selection processes.

Careers and Pathways

I would just like to highlight the outstanding work that our Careers and Pathways team do at the school day in and day out. Our team is made up of Daniel Mulligan, John Tikulin, Michelle Watt and Lola Panuccio. The team work with students and families at set times across the year during Personal Development classes, Assemblies, information nights and also with one on one and family counselling. Families and students that are looking to get more information about careers and pathways, subject selection, university courses, TAFE, apprenticeships and traineeships can get in touch with the team on 8339 8000.

NAPLAN

I would just like to highlight that NAPLAN testing period has now concluded. We saw a very high participation level this year for our Year 7 and 9 students. We know that many families had discussions prior to NAPLAN beginning to assist their children in preparing and trying their hardest. Thanks to Rory Henderson for his work in organising the whole program.

Showcase Night 2026

We held a very successful Showcase Evening last week for prospective Year 7 parents (2026). It was great to meet many families who were visiting the school for the first time, as well as families who already have children at the school. Thanks to our student volunteers who came to assist on the night and displayed excellent leadership and representation of the school.

School Holidays and Term 2 Return

I would like to wish all of our students a restful school holiday break and point out that the return to school for Term 2 is a little different than normal, with a three day week. School returns on Tuesday the 22nd April, as Monday 21st is a public holiday as well as Friday the 25th  April. Despite this being a 3 day week, it is essential that we have all students return and engage fully in their learning for that week.

  • Last Day of Term 1: Friday April 4 – Period 4 dismissal
  • Public Holiday Easter Monday: Monday April 21 – No school
  • First day Term 2: Tuesday April 22 – All students return to school
  • Public Holiday ANZAC Day: Friday 25 April – No School
