2022
As the year closes I would like to thank all members of the Elevation community for their support and commitment in making Elevation a great school.
We have had an enormous year this year as we not only welcomed another new year 7 cohort but undertook our stage 2 building program.
2022 was also the first year that Elevation Secondary College had onsite learning for the entire year, after the interruptions of 2020 and 2021. This is a very large step for our learners in rebuilding academic stamina they may have lost during our two COVID interrupted years.
The end of the school year is an important time for students to pause and reflect on the year they have had. I would encourage you to find some time over the summer break to spend some time reflecting on your child’s achievements from 2022. You may wish to use their report to assist in this reflection, but may also ask your child to think about what they were able to do at the start of the year compared to the end of the year. It is remarkable how much our students can learn in 12 months.
New buildings
Our new buildings will be finalized late in January – allowing our staff to move in and prepare right before students arrive.
Some of the landscaping works have been delayed by the La Nina weather pattern we have suffered through this term. This means that some of the buildings works in the yard may continue into February of 2023. These will be undertaken with minimal disruption – however it will be important for students to obey any safety warnings or instructions around the yard.
Addition to the Executive Team
It is with great pleasure that I welcome Andrew Stock to Elevation Secondary College. Andrew will be joining the Executive Team as an Assistant Principal from 2023. Andrew has significant leadership experience in a range of settings including Wallan Secondary College, Sale College and Mt Hira College.
Mr Stock will join Ms Lane, Mr Schutz and Ms Loudon as Assistant Principals from next year.
I’m sure you’ll join me in welcoming them all to our community.
