Year 7
As Semester 1 comes to a close, it’s been fantastic to see our Year 7 students settling in and truly finding their feet. The transition into secondary school is a big step, and we’re proud of how well they’ve adapted and grown over the past two terms.
With winter now upon us, a friendly reminder that while we all want to stay warm, any visible out-of-uniform layers aren’t permitted. Students are encouraged to wear the long-sleeve ESC shirt to keep cosy while staying in uniform.
The next set of reports will be released soon and will highlight student achievement and engagement with our school values: Aim High, Work Hard, and Be Good. We encourage families to read these carefully and celebrate progress together.
Looking ahead, Term 3 will bring the launch of Mugs of Merit: a new initiative to recognise students who consistently demonstrate our school values. Selected students will be invited to enjoy a warm hot chocolate at lunchtime as a reward and celebration.
We hope everyone enjoys a well earned term break! A quick reminder that students will rotate into new Art and Technology subjects next semester, so please come prepared with two new exercise books, any required folders, and relevant resources.

Year 8
As we close the chapter on Semester 1, we’d like to acknowledge the growth, effort and positive contributions of our Year 8 students over the past two terms. This point in the year has been an important time for students to consolidate their learning, prepare for final assessments and continue building habits that support long-term success.
Term 2 offered a range of engaging opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Athletics Day was a standout, bringing the school community together through friendly competition and House spirit. Students also took part in a valuable session on online safety led by the Pro-Active Police Unit. In addition, we were fortunate to host Cameron ‘CJCJ’ Johns – retired professional eSports competitor and international commentator – who shared an inspiring message about aiming high and working hard.
Throughout the semester, we have continued to reinforce our Junior School expectations, including respectful behaviour, correct uniform and active participation in key routines such as Welcome Circles and LSL. These practices support a positive, consistent environment and help students develop self-regulation and independence.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We wish all students and families a restful term break and look forward to a strong and focused start to Semester 2.
