Year 7

As we approach the end of the school year, it is with immense pride that we reflect on the incredible journey our Year 7 students have undertaken. This year has been a time of growth, achievement, and resilience, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far they have come.

Celebrating Achievements

In recognition of our students’ outstanding efforts, we held our Awards Assembly on Friday. This special event was an opportunity to celebrate their diligence, academic success, and participation in various activities such as the Chinese Writing Competition, Premier’s Reading Challenge, and consistent attendance. These achievements reflect the hard work and commitment of our students, and we congratulate each one of them for their dedication and perseverance.

A special acknowledgement to Jasnoor (7G) and Akshata (7I), who participated in the Discourse Academic Debate 2024. Both students spoke confidently, eloquently, and passionately. Jasnoor and Akshata both succeeded this semester in tackling Year 10, and even Year 11 content, while maintaining their Aim High, Work Hard and Be Good attitude. Congratulations students on an immense achievement.

Maintaining Momentum

While the end of the year is near, learning remains our top priority. We continue to teach right through to the final day of term, and we encourage all students to maintain their focus and strive for excellence in all their endeavors. We also emphasise living by our school values: Aim High, Work Hard, and Be Good.

Preparing for 2025

The holidays are a well-deserved time for rest and relaxation, and we hope all students and families enjoy this break. It’s also a great time to prepare for the year ahead. Please ensure that uniforms and equipment are ready for the start of 2025 so that students can begin the new school year organised and confident.

Thank You

We would like to thank all families for your support throughout this year. Your involvement and encouragement play a vital role in the success of our students. Together, we have built a strong foundation for Year 7, and we look forward to seeing continued success in Year 8.

Year 8

Reflecting on the Year

Our Year 8 students have shown curiosity, determination, and resilience throughout 2024. Beyond their academic achievements, many have stepped up to lead, whether through school programs or by simply modelling our school values: Aim High, Work Hard, Be Good.

To celebrate these achievements, we held our final awards ceremony, recognising the outstanding efforts and contributions of our students this year. A special mention goes to Daksh Jaiswal of 8E, as well as many other students who have courageously taken on public-speaking roles at assemblies. Daksh has been a dedicated and confident MC throughout the year, and we are so proud of the way he and others have stepped up.

Overcoming Challenges

Year 8 is not without its challenges, but what stands out is how our students have grown through these experiences. From tackling difficult assignments and navigating friendships to trying new activities, these moments have built resilience and character. It has been inspiring to see them embrace challenges and grow stronger because of them.

Looking Ahead

As we bid farewell to 2024, we are already looking forward to the exciting opportunities Year 9 will bring. Programs like the School for Student Leadership (SSL) program, Career Pathways discussions, the City School experience, and more will provide new ways for students to learn, grow, and explore their potential.

Thank You!

To all our families, thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year. From helping keep students on track with their learning or getting your child to school on time, or simply being there to listen, your involvement has been invaluable to their success.

To our amazing Year 8’s – congratulations! You have achieved so much this year, and we couldn’t be prouder of the young people you are becoming.

Wishing you and your families a safe and restful break.
