Junior School

After a well-deserved break, students have settled back into school routines and are reconnecting with their learning. As we move through the term, we encourage all students to refocus on their learning, arrive prepared each day with the correct equipment, and continue demonstrating positive learning habits in every class.

This term began with a shared Year 7 and 8 assembly where we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students. Awards were presented in recognition of excellence in Academic Achievement, Diligence, Community, and our School Values. Students received certificates and prizes to acknowledge their hard work, commitment, and positive contributions to our school community. Congratulations to all award recipients, we are incredibly proud of your efforts.

We would like to thank all families who attended our Student Learning Conferences on 13 and 14 August. These conferences provided a valuable opportunity for students, families, and teachers to connect, discuss learning progress, celebrate achievements, and set goals for the remainder of the year. We encourage families to continue talking with their students about the goals they discussed during their meetings and to support them as they work towards achieving them.

Regular school attendance plays a vital role in every student’s learning and success. Each day at school provides valuable opportunities to develop new skills, build confidence, and strengthen friendships. When students miss school, they can fall behind on important learning and miss out on classroom experiences that are difficult to replicate at home. We encourage all families to make school attendance a priority and to ensure that students attend every day unless they are unwell. By working together to support consistent attendance, we can help every child achieve their best and make the most of every learning opportunity.

Year 7

Year 7 students have launched Mugs for Merit this term. Each Tuesday, students who consistently demonstrate our Year 7 expectations to Aim High, Work Hard, and Be Good are invited to enjoy a hot chocolate with the Year 7 team. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate students who are making positive choices and contributing to a supportive and respectful learning environment.

We were also excited to welcome the Backflips Against Bullying incursion in Week 5 as part of National Bullying Week.

Held in the gym, this engaging event encouraged students to reflect on the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing up against bullying while promoting positive relationships within our school community.

Year 8

Year 8 students started the new term off being celebrated for their achievements in assembly. Congratulations to anyone who received an award.

We have also welcomed a number of new students to the year group in the past couple of weeks. They have been welcomed by students from their classes, and we continue to encourage all of our community to treat them with warmth and kindness.
