There are heaps of fun activities and clubs happening in the Library everyday. Look out for some familiar faces running these groups!
Manga Club runs in the library during lunchtimes every Friday and the students get together to socialise and watch anime. This month the club has created collage bookmarks, collages and mood boards. They spent lunchtime cutting up old, discarded volumes of manga and turning these into bookmarks and collages. Students got inventive, creating new narratives with their collages and decorated them with washi tape and stickers. Student work will be laminated and given to them to take home or put on display in the library.

Book Club
Book Club has made its official debut this term in the library! The club is led by our amazing Year 8 students Jancee and Fatema. We’ve had fun discussing our favourite books & genres, playing book trivia, making bookmarks and doing Chapter Chats.
Currently we are exploring the genre ‘Crime/Mystery’, and each member has borrowed a mystery book from the library. We are planning to read them over the next few sessions.
It brings me joy to see our club slowly growing, new friendships being formed and how respectful everyone is when it comes to sharing ideas, feelings and thoughts about books. If you are interested in joining Book Club then please come by on Tuesdays at lunch time in the Library Discussion Room. All students and staff are welcome!

Chess Club
Chess Club is back in Term 2 and more competitive than ever! Students play against each other and even challenge staff who drop in for a game. The club includes chess players of all levels and promotes cooperation between students to learn.
Students teach students (and staff!) the basic moves, collaborate on learning basic strategy, solve set chess puzzles and practice openings and endgames. The last few weeks of Term 2 will pit chess players from each of the 4 houses against each other in timed chess battles – each house will get points for participation and advancing through the rounds.
