Assistant Principal’s Report

Weather and Uniform

As the weather starts to improve, but cold mornings remain, we recommend students purchase a long-sleeved school shirt. That way, when the temperature rises throughout the day, students can remove their jumpers and jackets and still remain in uniform.

Equipment

Whilst the vast majority of students have been bringing text books and pencil cases full of learning materials, some students have lost, filled up or given their exercise books to friends. Now is the time to do an audit of your locker and check whether you have a separate exercise book per subject, whether you have a diary to keep you organised and a pencil case (not just a pen) to keep on top of tasks in class. These are a must for every subject. Parents/Guardians, it is worth purchasing a few extra exercise books to have around the house, or sent off to school, even if it is not yet required, as quite a lot of work is completed in class. Families who need additional support supplying their students with learning materials are encouraged to contact the school.

Subject Selections

Students in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 have chosen subjects for next year. We’re sure you’re all eager to find out what subjects you have been placed into. We are hoping to release this information in Week 5 or 6 of Term 4. We have already started hiring teachers based on your selections! Please remember that your decisions you made will stand, and there is very little chance of changing subjects once chosen.

Lunchtime Activities

There are a bunch of lunchtime activities happening every day at Elevation. We encourage students to find something they haven’t tried before and give it a go. Even if the activity isn’t for you, you’ll probably make a few friends along the way. Give it a go. Details are on posters around the school.
