A Busy Start to Term 2
Term 2 has been a busy and productive time for our Year 9 cohort. One of the highlights so far has been the Morrisby Careers Testing and Interviews, where students had the valuable opportunity to meet with a trained careers practitioner and discuss their pathways. These interviews are designed to help students gain insights into career pathways and educational programs that align with their strengths and interests.
The sessions were a great success, with all participating students walking away with a clearer understanding of their future options. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it was encouraging to see students engaging thoughtfully in conversations about their aspirations and potential career directions. We look forward to building on this momentum as the term progresses.
Year 9 Shine at Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 14th May 2025, our school held its annual Athletics Carnival—a day filled with energy, team spirit, and impressive athletic performances. Students from all year levels took to the track and field, aiming to earn the highest number of points for their house teams.
Our Year 9 students displayed incredible enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day. A special congratulations goes to our Age Champions—Preet, Malak, and Rayshan — who were recognised for their outstanding achievements and dedication.
The final house results were as follows:
🥇 Gurnmill – 442 points
🥈 Wirringan – 383 points
🥉 Marram – 337 points
🏅 Bunjil – 337 points
It was a fantastic day of fun, competition, and house pride. Well done to all who participated and contributed to the vibrant spirit of the carnival!
Year 9 Aspire Points – 2025 Leaderboard Update
Our Year 9 Mentor Groups have been working hard to demonstrate our school values through the Aspire Points system. These points recognise students for their positive behaviour, effort, and contributions to our school community.
As of now, the Aspire Points leaderboard for 2025 is as follows:
🥇 1st – 9B: 522 points
🥈 2nd – 9A: 316 points
🥉 3rd – 9C: 238 points

Year 10
Our Year 10 students have been progressing well in their studies across Semester 1 as we move towards exams and the completion of Semester 1 classes on the 27th of June.
Urgent – Work Experience Forms
The Year 10 Work Experience Program is fast approaching, taking place in Week 11 of this term (Monday 30th of June – Friday 4th of July).
Work experience is a key part of the Year 10 curriculum, and is compulsory for all students.
Failure to secure a work experience placement can affect subject choices for Year 11, and VCE pathway options. Well done to all students and families that have already been successful in gaining a placement and handing in the forms.
Work experience forms are now overdue, students who have not handed in their form will be required to attend catch-up sessions supervised by a member of the Careers or Year 10 team who will support them in finding a placement. It is still the primary responsibility of the student to find a placement and complete and return the required paperwork. Friday 13th of June is the last day students are able to return overdue Work Experience forms to the Careers team.
A copy of the Work Experience forms that need to be filled out by the employer is attached on the Compass newsfeed and can also be picked up from the career office in B8 by students.

End of Term 2 Timetable
With the end of Term 2 fast approaching Year 10 students have a fast run home. Exams form a crucial part of data collection that is used for Year 11 pathways recommendations. Its important that all students take the exams seriously and start studying and revising prior to exams. While there will be opportunities in classes for revision, students should be completing revision and study at home to give them the best opportunities to be successful on their exams.
Year 10 Exams run from the 18th – 20th of June.
