Mahdi Abdulkadom

Term 3 has been a very sad one for our school community after the tragic passing of one of our Year 7 students, Madhi Abdulkadom.

This has been deeply upsetting for many in our school and the broader community and of course tragic for his family.

Our Year 7 cohort and Mahdi’s friends from other year levels were able to come together at an assembly on Friday the 7th of August to honour Mahdi. It was wonderful to hear tributes from so many students and staff who spoke of their beautiful memories of Madhi. Some of those messages from friends are printed here:

“Mahdi was a very good kid. He always had a smile on his face.”

“Mahdi was a really good person. He was nice, he was helpful, he was funny. If someone was really sad , he would help them out.”

“We love Mahdi, we miss him. He was funny, he was kind and loving.”

Mahdi will always be remembered by our school community as a kind student with a great sense of humour. Many students highlighted times at school where they were sad or having a hard time and Mahdi came to help them out.

Mahdi was friendly to everyone and will be remembered fondly.
