Year 7
We are well into Term 2 and it’s been a strong and positive start! It’s been wonderful to see students settling back into routine and continuing to develop their independence and confidence at Elevation Secondary College.
Earlier this month, our Year 7 students participated in their very first Athletics Day. It was a fantastic event filled with team spirit, energy, and enthusiasm. Students competed in a variety of events and gave their all to earn valuable points for their houses. We’re incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves and their school. Well done to everyone who took part!
Recently, the Year 7 cohort were fortunate to welcome the Proactive Police Unit, who delivered an important session on online safety. Students learned about responsible digital behaviour, protecting personal information, and how to navigate the online world safely. These conversations are vital as students continue to engage with technology both in and out of the classroom.
As we continue into the term, we ask for your support in reminding students to come to every class prepared. This includes bringing the necessary books, devices, and writing materials to ensure they’re ready to learn and fully engaged in their lessons.

Year 8
As Term 2 picks up the pace, Year 8 students are beginning to shift their focus toward their final Learning Task of the semester. It’s a great time to check in at home about revision or incomplete tasks in class. The more students prepare, the more confident they will feel attempting their final assessment for the semester.
This term has already included some great experiences. Athletics Day was a highlight, whether it was through competitive events, cheering on their peers or simply enjoying the atmosphere, it was a fun day for all. More recently, students participated in an incursion with the Pro-Active Unit which focused on online-safety – an important reminder to stay safe and respectful online.
A few key reminders as we move into the second half of the term. Please continue supporting your child with Junior School expectations like arriving to class on time – students have 8 minutes warning time to arrive to class so they can participate in LSL. With colder weather setting in, we’ve sent out a reminder to students about our uniform guidelines – it’s not just about appearance, it also supports a safe school environment. Lastly, we continue to encourage kindness, with many Year 8’s showing this daily through small, thoughtful actions such as using pleasantries with staff and peers. Keep it up!
