Science
At Elevation Secondary College, our commitment to fostering a passion for science spans across all levels of education. In Years 7 to 9, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers all four key branches of science: chemistry, biology, physics, and earth and space science. These foundational years build a strong base in scientific principles and inquiry skills. Through a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on practical experiments, students develop a deep understanding of core scientific concepts.
As students progress into the senior years, they are encouraged to specialise and explore their interests more deeply. Senior science subjects adopt a more focused approach, allowing students to immerse themselves in the areas they’re most passionate about.
We’re proud to announce the launch of our very first Year 12 cohort in 2025—an exciting milestone for our school. Our dedicated teachers are working hard to support students as they prepare for their end-of-year VCE exams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.
In our VCE Science program, students can choose from a range of specialised subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and VET Laboratory Skills. This diverse offering reflects our commitment to meeting the varied interests and aspirations of our students, and to nurturing the next generation of scientists, innovators, and critical thinkers.

Tips for Success in Science Class
At Elevation Secondary College, we encourage our students to Aim High, Work Hard, and Be Good in their science studies. To succeed in science class, students should:
- Come prepared with all necessary materials, including textbooks and charged laptops, ready to engage in active learning.
- Revise regularly, dedicating 15-20 minutes each night to review their notes and concepts covered in class. Additionally, completing assigned textbook questions reinforces understanding and helps solidify knowledge.
- Seek teacher help and feedback whenever needed, as this fosters a deeper comprehension of complex scientific concepts and ensures continuous improvement.
By adopting these practices, our students can excel academically and develop crucial skills for future success in science.
Free Resources for Revision
Education Perfect (https://www.educationperfect.com/) is a free, interactive online platform that supports Science revision across topics such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Earth and Space Science. Teachers may assign specific tasks to help reinforce classroom learning, but students can also explore and select their own Science modules to focus on areas they wish to strengthen. The program is accessible using students’ Elevation Gmail login, making it easy to use both at school and at home. For help getting started or making the most of the platform, students are encouraged to speak with their Science teacher.

Stay tuned for updates and highlights from our Science classes as we continue to push the boundaries of scientific exploration at Elevation Secondary College.
